**Main purpose of the job**:
To deliver one-on-one talk therapy sessions with young women taking PrEP at the Ward 21 adolescent clinic

**Location**:
22 Esselen Street, Hillbrow, Johannesburg

**Key performance areas**:

- Deliver one-on-one talk therapy sessions with young women
- Identify and discuss mental health challenges that affect the use of oral Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis
- Assist participants in generating solutions and a plan to implement solutions
- Conduct a urine PrEP adherence testing and provide results to participants
- Provide drug-level feedback counselling
- Document urine test results, and sessions accordingly
- Conduct quality checks for urine test kits
- Ensure that confidentiality is maintained
- Conduct group counselling sessions as needed with AGYW receiving one-on-one talk therapy
- Participate in weekly debriefing sessions with a research psychologist
- Assist with research-related activities as and when required
- Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrates effective self-management
- Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately
maintained.
- Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback.
- Take ownership of driving your own career development by participating in ongoing training and development
activities.

**Required Minimum education and training**:

- **Grade 12**:

- Ages 24 - 30 years old
- PrEP use experience
- **Proficiency in IsiZulu, Sotho and English**

**Required minimum work experience**:

- Experience and or understanding of oral PrEP
- Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS

**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities**:

- Fluency in more than one African Language.
- Willingness to learn and gain new skills in mental health counselling.
- Good interpersonal skills, Basic counselling skills.
