**Information Technology Technician**

**Primary Purpose of the Job**:
Responsible for providing technical support and assisting end-users in resolving hardware and software issues. They will also maintain and troubleshoot computer systems, networks, and peripherals. The IT Technician will work closely with the IT team to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance of IT infrastructure

Report to: Managing Director / Head of Information Technology

**Education / Qualifications Required**

Minimum:

- A bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Advantageous:

- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are advantageous.

**Experience Required**

**Minimum**:

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar IT support role.
- Experience in providing technical support to end-users in person, over the phone, or via remote assistance.
- Knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience in documenting technical procedures and maintaining accurate records

**Competencies Required**

A: Technical Skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management.
- Understanding of computer hardware components and peripherals.

B: Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Customer-oriented approach with a focus on providing high-quality support.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

**Technical Support**
- Provide technical support to end-users in person, over the phone, or via remote assistance.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and resolve networkrelated issues.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining audiovisual equipment for presentations and meetings.

**System Maintenance**
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, including system updates, patches, and backups.
- Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation of hardware and software.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to identify and resolve potential issues before they occur.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets

**Network Administration**
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network-related problems.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Ensure network security by implementing appropriate security measures.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of network protocols and standards.
