Brewing Analyst

**Overall Responsibility**:
The Brewing Analyst is responsible for optimisation of the Brewing, cellar and filtration process to improve efficiency and quality. Brewing Analyst will also be responsible for effective data assimilation, analysing and presenting data to the leadership team with improvement suggestions.
**Focus Area 1**
**Health & Safety**
- Support the safety observation process
- Lead by example and promote SHE standards
**Focus Area 2**
**Process Optimising and Sustaining Good Brewing Practice**
- Assist in developing and training of SOPs
- Optimize production processes within brewing to drive efficiency and sustainable quality
- Assist Brewing department with accurate data capturing and effective use of Dashboards
- Perform quality analysis i.e. prepack, preprocess, YC and viability when required
- Do sensory across all stages of the process - preprocess, prepack and post pack
- Standby for production over weekends when required
- Assist with on-the-job observationsProvide information to assist with oversight and direction for the leadership and brewing team
**Focus Area 3**
**Development of Brewing staff**
- 2IC for Brewing Manager
- Inspire and motivate the broader SHP team to deliver on goals and maximize individual and the overall company performance
- Promote beer brewing quality excellence & right the first-time concept
- Support Brewing manager with TNA and Training process development, assessment & observations
**Focus Area 4**
**Provide Brewing Process Expertise (Technical depth) and facilitate problem solving processes**
- Assist lead brewer and team with Why-Why problem solving
- Facilitate 2nd tier more complex problem-solving techniques
- Coach upcoming Brewing staff on good brewing practices
**Focus Area 5**
**Assist Brew master with Brewing NPD**
- Working with Brew master on defined NPD projects
- Take active part in NPD process where required
- Collate NPD reports where required
**Requirements of the Role**:
- Science/Chemical engineering/Food science qualification (Ndip/BTech/BEng)
- Minimum 2 years brewing experienceValid driver’s license/own transport
**Preferred Skills/Competencies**:
- A passion for coaching & developing people
- Analytical Problem Solver
- Proficient on Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint along with detailed record keeping
- A passion for beer and brewing
- Be flexible to work intermittent weekends
- Strong Leadership skills
- Self-managing & Goal driven
