**Minimum Requirements**
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Degree / National Diploma / National Certificate N4 in Mechanical Engineering.
- Recognized relevant Trade Test Certificate.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as appointed 2.9.2 Engineering Foreman.
- 5 Years experience in a supervisory capacity in the mining sector.
- A Government Certificate of Competency (GCC - Mines & Works).
- Medically Fit (determined by OMP).
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including: The Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals and Energy Act, Basic Conditions of Employment and Environmental Legislation.
- In depth knowledge of safety systems and standards.
- A good working knowledge and understanding of machinery and equipment used in the Mining Industry.
- Aware of best practices and new technologies relating to Engineering Principles and Processes.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Optimize planned maintenance schedules of machinery and equipment ensuring that equipment is effectively maintained.
- Effective People management, ensuring that roles are well defined and clarified and that competencies and learning paths are developed to human capacity and capability.
- Effective planning, and maintenance of underground and infrastructure.
- Equipment failure analysis.
- Detailed equipment availability, utilization, and performance.
- Adherence to technical specifications and standard.
- Compliance with SHEQ, client standards, policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Manage budget control and forecasting.
- Conduct risk analysis and mitigate quality management risks.
