**Main purpose of the job**

To strengthen data management systems in order to generate high-quality outputs as well as translate data into program intelligence that drives TB and TB/HIV collaboration quality improvement initiatives at a sub-district level.

**Key performance areas**
- Support the Strategic Information team to submit relevant reports accurately and

timeously.
- Prepare internal monitoring reports and assist with the completion of corrective action.
- Generate high-quality, timeous, and accurate sub-district dashboards, charts, and

reports.
- Ensure 100% functioning of all TB health management information systems (THIS, EDRWeb & WebDHIS) in supported facilities.
- Ensure that facility information meetings are conducted within all facilities and TB quality improvement plans are implemented in the supported sub-district.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance systems for reporting.
- Provide training as required by sub-district internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing mentorship to subordinates and peers on M&E and strategic information principles.
- Verify the accuracy and transcription of data.
- Assess error trends and train staff on relevant data quality issues.
- Implement effective data management systems at project sites.
- Contribute to the preparation of guidelines and SOPs for Data Quality Assurance.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of regulatory files at the project sites.
- Effective self-management and performance ownership.
- Manage data in compliance with POPIA.
- Maintain effective working relationships with MatCH staff, department of health staff, and other stakeholders.

**Required minimum education and training**
- Relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/Mathematics, Data Science, Public Health, Health Information Management, or a related field.
- Unendorsed Driver’s License.

**Minimum work experience**
- 2 years of relevant experience in field implementation and management of Strategic information in TB/HIV-related programs for the public, private, or NGO sector.

**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**
- Previous PEPFAR and/or HIV/TB project-related M&E/SI experience.
- Knowledge of South African Public Health Information Management Systems (WebDHIS, THIS, EDRWeb).
- Demonstrated data management experience, including data checking, data validation, and data manipulation of small and large health-related datasets.
- Demonstrated experience using a range of statistical packages and programming tools (e.g. SPSS, STATA, ).
- Ability to think in a logical and structured manner, with well-developed problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organization and time management skills, including the proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with stakeholders.
- Very good computer skills (MS Office package).
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and show initiative.
- Able to work as part of a diverse and multi-disciplinary team.
- Regular travel to project sites will be required and working overtime may be required from time to time.
- Able to multi-task and work towards meeting deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Available to commence work immediately.
