IT Field Technician

**Description**:
This position will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of all company equipment. Resolving issues by agreement with end users/client within allotted Service Level Agreement time periods.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs on IT equipment
- Ensure that all TOM and TOM peripheral equipment is operational
- Repairing of swopped out equipment to operational specification for re-use in operating environment
- Maintain test environment equipment in a working condition
- Setup, install and administer computer hardware, software and networks
- Carry out work on site as required; participate in the installation, configuration, and upgrade of computer hardware and software
- Respond to and diagnose a wide range of more complex problems through discussions with end-users and team members
- Conduct training to clients on company equipment
- Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required

**Minimum Requirements and Skills**:

- Matric with a National Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ professional work experience with hardware; desktop computers and servers - software installation, networking and troubleshooting
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques
- Ability to work under pressure
- Valid and clean Driver’s License

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Germiston, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
