**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
To maintain plant equipment in good operational condition, to ensure at least 98% plant availability, equipment function at the designed line rate and meet food quality standards.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:

- **
SAFETY**: Ensure that equipment is in a safe and operational condition according to McCain Safety standards and Key Elements of Safety. Compliance with LOTO, Permit to work requirements, working at Heights, Confined Spaces, OHSACT rules and regulations. Support 5S in workshop and factory, BOS participation
- ** QUALITY**: Food Safety requirements, - AIB and HACCP, Support GMP inside workshop and factory
- ** DELIVERY**: Daily preventative maintenance by inspecting mechanical and electrical equipment, adhere to schedule compliance targets, support condition monitoring program in plant, do root cause analysis on breakdowns and complete 5Why on breakdowns, calibrate equipment where required, drive Mean Time To Repair(MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures(MTBF) targets, commission new installations. Ensure electrical equipment and controls are maintained and in good working condition.
- **COST**: Draw spares on SAP from Stores, ensure defective equipment is timeously reported, and report out of stock and obsolete items, support SCA initiatives in plant and department. Replace electrical motor bearings.

**EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**

5 Years’ experience as electrician in an FMCG environment, experience in packaging equipment, metal detectors, conveyors. Understand and set up drives (Schneider & Power flex). Understand basic operation of PLC. Strong electrical panel wiring, electrical fault finding abilities. Must understand electrical motor control centers. Must be able to read and interpret electrical diagrams. Must have good understanding of SANS 10142 for industry

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- School: Gr 12 or N4
- Certificates: Red seal trade test certificate as electrician
