**Purpose of Role**:
**Programe Overview**:
The Binding Constraints Lab (BCL) is a pioneering programme of work dedicated to enhancing education systems and improving learning outcomes in South Africa. Our mission is to support cross-sector actors in achieving impactful change at scale through innovative approaches, strategic partnerships, and policy advocacy. We work closely with government entities, civil society organisations, business and philanthropic partners to drive sustainable transformation in education. The BCL is a programme of Allan and Gill Gray Philanthropy Africa.

**Role Overview**:
**Objectives of Role**:
**Programme Design and Management**:

- Lead the design, coordination, and testing of pilot programmes across various project cycles.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful implementation and institutionalisation of programmes.
- Conduct and synthesise research to inform programme development and execution.

**Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including the Department of Basic Education (DBE), provincial education departments, funders, NGOs and international partners.
- Facilitate cross-sector collaboration to drive educational innovations and solutions.

**Partner Support**:

- Work hand in hand with partners as required to support successful programme implementation including strategy, team and delivery support.

**Monitoring and Evaluation**:

- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track programme progress and impact.
- Collect, analyse, and consolidate data to inform programme improvements and reporting.

**Reporting and Communication**:

- Prepare and present concept notes, project plans, project and funder reports.
- Communicate program outcomes and insights effectively to diverse audiences.

**Experience and Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Honours degree or equivalent in Education, Economics, Public Policy, International Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in education program management, with a focus on design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strong understanding of the education landscape in South Africa, including key stakeholders, policies, and challenges.
- Experience working with government officials, civil society organisations, and funders
- Track record of being able to think and plan creatively in designing initiatives to have impact at scale and/ or drive systemic change
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively in writing and orally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
