Role Purpose

The purpose of the **Head of Risk Management **role is to ensure comprehensive identification of all key relevant risks across Momentum Securities and provide guidance on mitigation to ensure compliance that align to Momentum Securities’ relevant risk frameworks and policies and minimize loses. This role is also ensures the development and implementation of a robust combined governance strategy and operation plan for Momentum Securities combining governance integrates and aims to optimize all governance functions (Risk and compliance).
Requirements

Qualifications:

- Relevant B-Com degree in Risk Management (Preferably Honours in Risk Management)

**Experience**:

- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a risk management function managing risk analysts, preferably in a financial institution.
- South African stockbroking/investment regulations and standards.
- Experience in drafting and presenting risk reports
- Experience using risk tools and designing a comprehensive risk management framework
- Experience in Develop risk control monitoring plan
Duties & Responsibilities

**Design, develop and manage a risk governance strategy for Momentum Securities**
- Manages the implementation of all aspects related to the risk function, including the implementation of risk management processes and tools to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor - and report on risks on a regular basis.
- Develop risk control monitoring plan with focus on monitoring key controls and building a risk management culture.
- Define trading risk management policies and ensures compliance in implementation throughout Momentum Securities.
- Ensure reporting on critical projects status to contribute to delivery against set timelines.
- Ensure relevant risk management documentation and reports to identify and track delivery against key risks, mitigating actions, relevant risk themes, trends and emerging risks are developed for allocated business divisions.
- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation.
- Manage people by executing management responsibilities and create an environment that encourages employee growth and performance excellence.
- Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships within Momentum Securities and across the MMH group.
- Provide leaders and the Momentum Securities Board with a risk evaluation and recommendations.
- Monitor and proactively manage key risk factors, including market prices, client debits, interest rates, foreign exchange rates, derivative instrument prices, equity prices and commodity prices.
- Building risk awareness with the business team by providing support and giving appropriate training.

**Oversees the implementation and effective management of compliance processes withing Momentum Securities.**
- Monitor the compliance function within limits.
- Manages the implementation of all aspects related to the risk function, including the implementation of risk management processes and tools to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor - and report on risks on a regular basis.
- Work closely with the Senior regulatory risk compliance officer to report on compliance matters to the CEO of Momentum Securities, Momentum Securities Board, Risk & Compliance Committee, Exco, Audit Committee and Momentum Metropolitan Holdings as required.
- Monitor and provide the appropriate oversight function for any activities outsourced or for any independent compliance functions performed by any legal entities within the business.
- Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors.
