**The main purpose of this position**:
To ensure the availability and quality of data in the business is adequate to make better-informed decisions

The role will report to the Head of Insights, Data and Analytics, playing a core role in data strategy, data architecture, data management, data systems, data solutions design and implementation

This opportunity is for an individual who is eager to build and shape the data landscape within a cloud-based entrepreneurial environment.

**Key Performance Areas**:
Summary:

- Thorough understanding of data strategy
- Designing and implementing data strategies, systems, and solutions
- Lead, motivate, and manage technical teams
- Overseeing the collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data
- Implementing data privacy policies and complying with data protection regulations

Detail:

- To design a centralized data architecture that can be used by all business units to retrieve information
- To design instruments of data gathering
- To ensure data quality
- To oversee data management (Azure DW, SSIS) and data security
- To ensure that the latest technology, data and information is central to the company’s strategy
- To understand the technological constraints of and address the business needs accordingly in the most optimal manner
- Be responsible for the architecture, design and development of data solutions for the advancement of the organization

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems or related field
- Data certifications preferred (SSIS, Microsoft)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior-level data management role
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the management of technical teams
- Experience in building data architecture
- Experience in designing and implementing data driven solutions

Skills/Physical Competencies:

- Thorough understanding of data architecture
- Strong working knowledge of complex data warehouse design, architecture, development and maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of data solution architecture, design and development
- Strong working knowledge of data process automation and business process automation design, architecture and development
- Strong working knowledge of SSIS and SSAS
- Strong experience working with dynamic coding as opposed to hard coded environments
- Strong technical documentation expertise
- Strong programming skills (Python, C#, java etc.)
- Understanding of data analytics (Power BI)
- Technologically minded
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Project management skills
- Understanding data science (ML Tools/packages, AI)
- Analytically minded

Data Research:

- Design the measurement tools for gathering data for insights to be created
- Validate that the data is accurate
- Ensure that the best and most up to date information is presented using the best tools and techniques to the relevant audience that consumes the information

Data Architecture:

- Expert understanding of how a data structure is to be developed in a cloud-based
- infrastructure
- Expert understanding of data architecture technologies and methodologies to deliver future-proofed data environments
- Expert skills in leveraging the available data to enable a self-service reporting environment
- Expert understanding in data structures to enable data science and machine learning functions

Develop a data environment enabling the following Data Science and Analytics outcomes:

- Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions
- Use analytics techniques to deduce insights which contribute to company growth efforts, increasing revenue and other key business outcomes
- Development of analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing market insight tests/experiments, analysing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units
- Design and delivery of reports and insights that analyse business functions and key operations and performance metrics
- Ensure accuracy of data and reporting deliverables
- Understand how to make a statistical analysis on data or through machine learning
