**Branch Manager - Cape Town**

**(Must be willing to relocate to Cape Town)**

**FUNCTION**:
To manage the Cape town branch by performing the work of planning, leading, organizing, and controlling. To action strategies to innovate and grow the business in CPT to ensure the achievement of budgeted revenue targets. To develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to further develop business opportunities. To implement cost control strategies to ensure the achievement of budgeted targets. To manage the administrative, operational, and human resources management disciplines within the branch.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- + 10 Years of freight industry experience.
- 5-7 Years branch manager experience
- 3-5 Years of sales experience (or managing a sales department)
- Grade 12
- Diploma/ Degree in transport and logistics - advantageous
- Driver’s license is compulsory
- Fully computer literate
- Sound knowledge of loading and off-loading principles.
- Understanding safe workplace practices and requirements
- Administration and organisational skills
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Sound knowledge of the Cape Metro area
- Must be a team player and adapt to change easily
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (proficient in English & Afrikaans)
- The appointment will be in line with our employment equity plan and report.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Operations**:

- Manage and motivate the operations management team
- Ensure the maximization of vehicle and process efficiencies
- Handle operational queries and give guidance for solutions
- Regular staff meetings with all operational employees
- Resolve conflicts and disputes
- Weekly measurement of "Key Cost" components
- Ensure optimal utilization of line haul vehicles

**Administration**:

- Authorize orders and invoices
- Authorize credit notes, adjustments, and exceptions
- Authorize HR-related issues such as leave, payroll etc.
- Regular discussions with regards to outstanding debtors’ payments
- Provide guidance in resolving outstanding queries
- Authorize new supplier detail forms

**Financial**
- Manage and track the branch's revenue and expenditure
- Action areas of concern - Document action plan

**Suppliers/3rd Parties**
- Authorize invoicing and spot check against billing
- Continuously strive to find the best "value for money"
- Question usage vs doing it ourselves

**Sales**:

- Represent Freightmore with a comprehensive understanding of our service offering
- In conjunction with the Branch Sales Manager design and implement a strategic business plan that will expand the branch’s customer base and ensure we maintain a strong presence
- Discuss customer issues and give guidance for decision making

**Information**:

- Manage the accurate and timely capture of information into the various systems

**General**:

- Ensure adherence to all Financial, Operational, Human Resources and Safety SOP
- Manage the human resource management discipline
- Attend to various branch related issues and queries
- Identify knowledge gaps within the team and in conjunction with HR develop a plan to fulfill them

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From R1.00 per hour
