Assistant Winemaker

Waboomsrivier Winery, a well established Winery producing exceptional wine in the Breede River area between Worcester and Ceres, has the abovementioned position available for an energetic and dynamic Assistant Winemaker, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Afrikaans and English).

The Assistant Winemaker will report to the General Manager and Winemaker and will be responsible for (but not limited to): *winemaking process as part of the winemaking team *coordination of harvest activities *perform general viticultural duties *liaison with producers *quality control, cellar hygiene and adherence to health & safety requirements *ensuring compliance with relevant quality/regulatory standards (IPW/SAWIS/ISO 22000/WIETA) *inventory management *cellar staff management *record keeping & general cellar administration *assist with maintenance of machinery & equipment *all other functions related to the position.

**Essential qualifications, skills and experience**:

- BSc Agric Viticulture and Oenology, Elsenburg Qualification OR similar, with the main interest in Oenology;
- Previous winemaking experience/completed harvest seasons would be advantageous;
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, Wine MS);
- Own reliable transport with valid driver’s license;
- Willingness to work overtime when required, especially during harvest season.
