**Safety, Health, Environment & Security**:

- Direct, maintain and enforce the safety program for the Maintenance Department
- Review safety records to in order to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians

**Commercial Ownership/Creative Customer Solutions - run the business as if its your own**:

- Initiate, implement and manage the plant maintenance program/plan based on best practices in the resin production industry.
- Oversee the planning/scheduling and preventative/predictive maintenance function
- Constantly review the operations/performance of plant equipment in order to minimise unplanned downtime.
- Timeously solve problems related to breakdowns and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in objective planning and plant performance review
- Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, equipment and initiate reordering when necessary
- Manage the maintenance and repair of maintenance shop equipment
- Establish and maintain a computerised maintenance management system (DMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts and maintenance history of plant equipment
- Provide direction to plant maintenance personnel
- Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department
- Timeously monitor the operation of plant equipment and systems
- Track, analyse and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilisation, maintenance costs, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Monitoring product quality. Prepare reports, analyse data and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Ensure that all Maintenance Technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures
- Ensure that Maintenance Technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated in order to accomplish the maintenance programme in a timeous, safe and cost effective manner
- Initiate and implement projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
- Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions
- Implements programmes and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness

**Working Together**:

- Communicate regularly with all maintenance technicians to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues
- Coordinate activities with plant Operations Department in order to achieve or exceed set goals
- Maintain good communication with Operations Department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas
- Communicate with QA Department in order to ensure effective participation by the maintenance technicians in the implementation of QA policies and procedures
- Maintaining a safe working environment and providing leadership on safety issues

**Inherent Requirements**
