Radiographer X 1

**Location**: Nkangala District, Mpumalanga Province

**Duration of Contract**: 5-year fixed term contract.

**Radiographer x 1 - (Ref Acc-18)**

**Main purpose of the job**:
The incumbent will be responsible for providing mobile X-ray services, including screening and diagnosis of TB, at MatCH supported public health facilities.

**Key performance areas**
- Assessing patients and interpreting clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques
- Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high
- quality images
- Working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is provided to patients, for example by sharing specialist knowledge and expertise.
- Positioning patients safely for examinations and, if necessary, adapting standard techniques depending on medical conditions associated with disability, illness, or trauma
- Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality
- Performing necessary administrative tasks, when required
- Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionising radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others.
- Undertaking quality control checks on X-rays and associated equipment, and contributing to quality assurance and audit initiatives
- Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported

**Required minimum education and training**
- National Diploma: Diagnostic Radiography

**Professional body registration**:

- Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) registration

**Work experience**:

- Three years of relevant experience

**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities**
- HIV/TB knowledge and experience will be highly desirable o Experience working in a donor funded organization / NGO or project-based environment ,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Report writing ability
- Proficiency in English
- Strong counselling skills.
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to handle a varied, busy, and pressurized workload with competing demands on time
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability and willingness to travel
