Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Installations: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures in accordance with relevant regulations. Set up electrical components such as circuit breakers, switches, and distribution panels in commercial and residential buildings.

2. Repair and Maintenance: Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or repairs. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to restore functionality. Perform preventative maintenance to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely.

3. Testing and Diagnostics: Use testing equipment to diagnose and locate electrical problems. Test continuity of circuits using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.

4. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical standards and regulations (e.g., SANS 10142-1). Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material usage and repairs completed.

5. Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with other tradespeople, supervisors, and contractors to complete projects efficiently. Provide feedback on project progress and report any issues to the site manager or supervisor. Assist in estimating material requirements and costs for electrical projects.

6. Adherence to Safety Standards: Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines at all times. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure a safe and clean working environment. Identify and mitigate potential electrical hazards.

7. Other Duties: Assist with general maintenance tasks as required, including minor installations and repairs. Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

**Requirements**:
Experience: Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a maintenance or construction environment.

Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with electrical tools, testing equipment, and troubleshooting techniques. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Physical Fitness: Ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and under various weather conditions.

Qualifications: Trade Test Certificate in Electrical (required).

Wireman’s License (advantageous).

Grade 12/Matric (preferred).

Valid registration with the Department of Labour as an Electrician (advantageous).

Additional Information:
Work Environment: Projects may involve work on malls, office buildings, residential properties, and other commercial structures. Travel: May be required to travel to various sites as assigned. Tools Provided: Necessary tools and equipment will be provided by the company.-
