**to supervise and enhance their school.**

EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Permanent

**DUTIES**:

- Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all children and staff
- Manage, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school
- Manage extra-curricular activities, discipline systems, etc. to ensure a safe and orderly climate
- Oversee building maintenance, programme evaluation, personnel management, office operations and emergency procedures
- Maintain the annual master schedule for instructional programmes, ensuring sequential learning experiences
- Supervise the instructional programmes of the school, evaluating lesson plans and observing classes
- Encourage children to take responsibility for behaviour and create high morale among staff and children
- File all required reports regarding violence, vandalism, attendance and discipline matters
- Establish procedures for evaluation and selection of instructional materials and equipment, approving all recommendations
- Identify and supply staff resources required
- Report any suspicions of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions
- Conduct monthly / weekly meetings to facilitate the proper functioning of the school
- Maintain an effective inventory system for all school supplies, materials and equipment
- Responsible for all H & S issues
- Provide regular drills for emergencies and disasters
- Maintain a master schedule to be posted for all teachers
- Establish schedules and procedures for the supervision of children in non-classroom areas
- Communicate regularly with parents, seeking their support and advice, so as to create a co-operative relationship
- Complete in a timely fashion all records and reports as requested by the Director
- Establish procedures for safe storing and integrity of all public and confidential school records
- Organise and supervise procedures for identifying and addressing special needs of children
- Supervise the exclusion of sick children and keep parents / guardian informed of the reasons for exclusion
- Provide quarterly grade and behaviour reports to parents
- Enforce uniform and appearance policy
- Responsible for the school’s newsletter and communiqués to all parents
- Delegate, where possible and necessary
- Ad-hoc duties as requested by Director

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- 3 years’ relevant experience
- Qualification in Education / Psychology / Early Childhood Development / Occupational Therapy
- Extensive experience with babies & toddlers
- Previous experience in occupational therapy (advantageous)
- Computer literate
- SACE / ECD registered
- Able to work early mornings / late evenings when required
- Must have clear credit and criminal record

**HOURS**:

- 07:00 -17:00 (Mon - Fri)
- On standby until 18:00
