**Purpose of the job**:
To provide support to the QA department through identifying improvement initiatives for the quality of the Flour. Receiving of the correct samples of bread flour, bread premix, Easy mix, and Snowflake products for test baking
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct daily quality control checks on raw material, in-process product(s) and finished/packed product(s).
- Maintain and support improvement initiatives within the of the QA department.
- Complaints investigations and resolutions - through retention samples testing and batch records retrieval.
- Receiving the correct samples of bread flour, bread premix, Easy mix, and Snowflake products for test baking. Confirmation that the samples are free of any foreign objects or contamination.
- Pre-weighing, decanting and mixing of ingredients for the test baking of bread and other snowflake or competitors’ samples or products.
- Adherence to SOPs
- Ensuring that additional ingredients not included in the Easy mix/ Snowflake product packs are ready for use at the test baking station e.g., milk, butter, cooking oil.
- Monitoring of consumables stock level in the test bakery.
- Delivering COA’s on time when requested, ensuring that all COA’s are updated on lims once product tests are completed.
- Performing specific quality tests applicable to the product to confirm that the finished product conforms to the requirements. These usually include colour, texture, taste and overall appearance like shape and size.
- Recording the test baking results and reporting any issues with quality immediately to the Supervisor or QA
**Qualification Requirements**:
- National Diploma in Food Technology/Analytical Chemistry or equivalent.
**Experience Requirements**:
2 - 3 years in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within a manufacturing or laboratory setting in the food industry will be advantageous.
GMP, HACCP and Supplier Quality Assurance experience desirable.
Knowledge and or experience of FSSC **22000**
New Product Development (NPD) in a test kitchen or baking experience will be highly advantageous.***

**Other Requirements**:
- Be prepared to work extended hours when required.
- Factory/Bakery environment - noisy and hot.
- Be prepared to work shifts when required.
- May be transferred to other QC workstations as necessary.
