**Purpose of role**

Half Day Aftercare Teacher position to assist with after school homework and supervision (aged between 6 Years of age - Grade 4).

**Requirements**:
**Responsibilities**
- Assume all educational and caring responsibilities for children in their class and assist
with homework and school projects.
- Promote feelings of security and trust in children through maintaining a safe, loving and fun environment where children feel excited to explore and learn.
- Communicate regularly and honestly with parents on the development and overall well being of their children and address challenging situations where necessary.
- Work positively and collaboratively with other staff members, including to plan activities for the classes as a team.
- Participate in and lead regular professional development sessions with colleagues.
- Reflect on their work regularly, leading their personal growth strategy.
- Other responsibilities as necessary.
- Note: this is a physically challenging role and requires the teacher to stand for large portions of the day, bend, run, sit on the floor, participate in playground activities, and generally play with the children._

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Previous experience with homework assistance for Primary School
- First Aid would be an advantage
- Clear criminal record

**Experience**
- Min 1 year child care experience
