Senior Inspector

Job DescriptionThe **Operations Department** have a vacancy for a** Senior Inspector** to conduct inspection of products and equipment according to standard protocols as prescribed through PPECB’s legislative mandate.

Job Description *
- Inspect and certify perishable products.
- Inspect the handling, storage and transport of perishable products.
- Perform administrative tasks.
- Mentoring of junior staff.
- Provide continuous support to Chief Inspector.
- Provide technical support to Inspectors.
- Assist with training of Inspectors.
- Build and maintain good relations with PPECB clients.
- Communicate with various clients on own specific task and outcome of decisions
- Participate in the relief duty roster
- Accept the responsibility of continuous self-improvement in their area of responsibility according to the PPECB performance framework.
- Job Requirements- A National Diploma in an Agricultural discipline with relevant work experience as a competent Inspector.
- Proven competency in the following products: Citrus, Avocado, Macadamia, Litchis, Mangoes, Grapes. Container loading and Cold store inspection
- Practical experience and/or exposure of fruit and vegetable inspection and Container loading will be advantageous.
- Excellent proven experience on implementation and maintenance of all regional processes and databases.

- Supervisory experience
- Experience in training and mentoring
- Thorough understanding and theoretical knowledge of the processes involved in product inspection of fresh produce, cold chain activities and food safety.
- Computer Literacy.
