Chief Geologist

Develop systems to eliminate fatalities, serious disability injuries and lost time injuries
- Interpret captured data, draw conclusions and pro-actively predict unforeseen safety and production target compromising conditions.
- Liaise with key stakeholders and make recommendations on mining layouts.
- Provide geological interpretations to key stakeholders at planning sessions.
- Awareness in terms of Rock Engineering legal requirements.
- Meet expenditure targets - Compile the geology capital and working budget
- Implement methodology to enhance and improve efficiency in geological data collection systems
- Drive the excellence in mining and improve ore grades.
- Development and implementation of communication system.
- Standardisation data capture processes and procedures
- Review and analyse capture data and draw conclusions
- Allocation of resources to meet production requirements (SLAs)
- Minimum BSc. Honours in Geology.(or equivalent qualification)
- Member of GSSA
- Professional affiliation to South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions will be an advantage
- Seven years relevant mining geology experience, preferably with three years of people management experience.
- Three years experience in gold mining geology will be an advantage.
- Ability to manage and optimise resources.
- Must be competent in Microsoft Office programs
- Valid Certificate of physical fitness
