Junior CNC Setter

**1: Summary of Duties**:
List the Main Functions in basic detail
- Preparing and operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Operate engraving machine.
- Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function

**2: Main Duties**:
This is a more detailed definition of the Summery of Duties. Whenever possible, define WHAT, HOW and FOR WHAT PURPOSE. Also use words related to Management Duties such as: initiates, delegates, directs, supervises, controls, plans and checks.
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
- Engrave parts with unique numbers.
- Capture part numbers on the HUB
- Adhere to the H&S act.
- Maintain general housekeeping.

**4: Job Requirements**

**4.1 Education**
- Matric
- Production Technology NQF 2-3
- Certificate engineering studies

**4.2 Work Experience**
- 3 years in CNC operations role
- CNC Lath and Milling setting experience
- CAD
- Solid works
- PC Literacy
- Knowledge and Skills
- Proven experience as CNC operator
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings (BOM)
- Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer.
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills

**5: Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) - Duties & Responsibilities**

In order to effectively manage the duties and responsibilities as contained under the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 it is a condition of employment and thus expected that each employee, whilst in the employ of and or when on the premises of HS Explospot, adhere to the requirements of the said Act and the SHE rules, as contained in the HS Explospot Site Standards which may be changed from time to time.
