We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled General Maintenance Worker to join our Facilities Management team at Thaba Eco Hotel. In this role, you will play a critical role in maintaining the functionality and appearance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and staff. You will be responsible for conducting general maintenance tasks and repairs across various areas of the hotel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing plumbing systems, electrical fixtures, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
- Respond to guest requests and resolve maintenance issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Install, repair, and maintain various equipment, appliances, and furniture.
- Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations and address maintenance-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, following proper procedures and protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- Proven experience as a General Maintenance Worker or similar role, preferably in a hospitality or facilities management setting.
- Knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, and other maintenance-related skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to identify and address safety hazards.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
- Certification in relevant maintenance fields is a plus.
