Livewell, a Personalized Dementia Care Facility, is looking to add a very special person to our Lifestyle team to help co-ordinate activities, outings, one-on-one quality time, and events for our residents.
The role will include the following duties:
- Maintaining a consistent presence on the floor
- Attending to residents who require emotional support or have behavioral issues
- Ensuring a therapeutic environment in that you encourage an environment that is supportive of each individual and recognizes that people with dementia are particularly vulnerable to chaotic environmental influences
- Implementing and ensuring the smooth running of the activity program
- Present activities
- Liaising with the Occupational Therapist (OT) on various therapies
- Ensuring that the resident’s appearance, neatness, and grooming is closely monitored
- Attending multi-disciplinary meetings with the families
- Attending and contributing to brainstorm sessions with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT)
- Assessing the residents needs for assistive devices in coordination with the OT
- Scheduling salon appointments for allocated residents, keeping record of all appointments and ensuring administration documentation are up to date
- Ensuring that residents birthday parties are arranged and be host or hostess at the party being mindful of the allocated budget
- Maintaining and building a healthy relationship, acting as Livewell’s brand ambassador, with the families of your allocated residents
- Training of the care providers and companions/assistants on key matters that affect residents
**Requirements**:
- Secondary education level: Matric Certificate
- Post degree studies and courses are advantageous
- Language Professional Proficiency (read, write & speak): Afrikaans & English
- At least 3 years’ work experience in healthcare/dementia industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent in client relations management
- Good problem-solving skills
- Be able to work independently and be computer literate.

- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- Clean criminal record

Ability to commute/relocate:
