Manages the safe, legal, sustainable and cost-effective production of the good quality Cement and Slag, also manages all raw material stocks and movement. Also manages the shift supervisors' functions. Hires and, develops the Production workforce under him/her to deliver high quality and efficient services.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Diploma/HND in process, production, chemistry or equivalent

**MINIMUM REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE**:

- Intimate practical experience of cement manufacturing (Plant and process) (approximately 5 years) and people leadership skills.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Production Scheduling** - Decompose monthly forecast into weekly daily and shift production plans.
Formulate machine run time and shift labour component requirement to meet production targets.
Liaise with cement plants regarding weekly raw materiala. Liaise with engineering department to establish plant down-time schedule and factor into production plans.
- ** Production Control** - Ensure that an effective and integrated management operating system (MOS) is functioning at all levels in the plant and across all shifts. Tracking: Target / Actual / Variance as well as action planning. Conduct regular audits on MOS to ensure: Operator Logs are accurately completed and used by shift supervisors for Short Interval Control. Operator Logs are being completed by Mobile equipment operators.
End of shift reports are accurately and comprehensively completed, including: Target / Actual / Variance as well as proper action planning during the shift.Production and sales data must be accurately submitted on the DSP and all variances communicated with the production clerk for corrections
- Management in all areas in the plant. Compile accurate and comprehensive Daily Production Report for Production Manager.
Capture daily results into Production Managers Reporting Tool.
- **Production review** - Facilitate weekly production INVOCOM. Ensure that production results are reviewed in morning INVOCOM meetings and daily targets adjusted if need be. Proactively use production data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- **Process Optimisation** - Action recommendations from Process Engineer. Provide input into process optimisation root cause analysis and raw material & product trials. Provide input into efficiency and productivity improvement initiatives.
- **Equipment condition monitoring**:

- Ensure ongoing and systematic 1st line equipment surveillance and condition monitoring.Continuous Frontline maintenance development must continue for optimal plant utilisation.
- **Raw Material Requisitioning** - Create internal requisitions for non-bulk materials.
- Stock management - Monitor raw material inventory. Ensure accurate stock takes are undertaken as per schedule. Assist with variance investigations and stock adjustments. Generate Month Stock report from SAP for sign-off by Production Manager.
- **Quality Management**:

- Ensure adherence to material mixing instructions. Investigate and resolve quality deviations.
- **Governance** - Assist with implement departmental SHARP Audit Protocols. Promote and assure PPC Operating Best Practices. Ensure compliance with factory statutory licenses and permits.
- **Risk Management** - Promote and ensure adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures. Assist with investigations of incident & accidents and implement required corrective action. Promote and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 system.
- **Contract Labour Management** - Compile requests for use of contract labour. Reconcile contract labour hours to invoice.
- **Provide input in budget planning process and monitor expenses** - Provide input into budget planning process where required. Monitor and allocate expenses. Motivate team to minimise waste. Assess team expenditure and resolve gaps.
