Actuarial Analyst

We have a position available for an **Actuarial Analyst** in the **Sandton **area within the **Healthcare **industry. The Actuarial Analyst will supplement the analytics team in data analysis and statistical reporting to the business. The incumbent will further be responsible for delivering business intelligence across a wide range
of areas.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Degree) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics at a NQF level 7.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant Healthcare experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify trends in a logical, systemic way.
- Good communication skills.
- A team player who can work alone when required and without supervision.
- Proven experience in successfully managing multiple projects.
- Ability to work under pressure and at fast pace.
- Ability to understand the urgency of various tasks, with ability to prioritise.
- High level of attention to detail, resilience, enthusiasm, and drive.
- Ethical and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Self-starter.
**Knowledge**:
- Advanced computer proficiency (MS Office).
- Advance knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, statistical analysis programs.
- SQL experience.
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools.
**Responsibilities**:
**Actuarial Analysis**
- High-level actuarial calculations and data analysis to drive company key strategic initiatives.
- Use standard tools to compile and analyse data, predicting future performance and performing risk
- analysis to identify variances and trends.
- Develop reporting tools to assist with ad-hoc reporting in terms of management requirements.
- Provide input on funder product development, partnerships, and hospital event cost analysis.
- Understand hospital pricing and tariffs with the aims to develop Alternative Reimbursement Models (ARMs).
- Develop and produce regular reports to monitor the effectiveness of these Alternative Reimbursement Models (ARMs).
- Develop specific models and tools that allow the company to properly evaluate potential gains and losses of proposed business plans and processes.
- Present data and findings in an understandable way such that it provides actionable insights for business users and medical schemes.

- Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial, internally, and externally.
