**Registered Nurse - NICU**

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated NICU nurse to work with a medical team to provide round-the-clock care to premature and ill infants and their families. A NICU nurse’s tasks include providing basic care for infants, such as diaper changes and feeding, as well as coordinating the infants’ medical treatments with the NICU physician. The NICU nurse provides comfort and support to premature and ill infants, as well as their parents and family members.

**Requirements & Expertise**:

- Registration with the South African Nursing Council
- One year’s experience in NICU
- General Nursing Degree / Diploma
- A CPR certification
- Excellent written and spoken communication abilities.
- Working knowledge of NICU specialized equipment.
- The ability to offer emotional support to parents, guardians, and family members.
- The capacity for teamwork.
- The ability to provide comfort to ill neonates.

**Responsibilities**:

- Formulating nursing plans and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.
- Delivering 24-hour care to premature and critically ill newborns.
- Supporting and educating parents and family members on how to care for their infant at home.
- Operating and adjusting specialized medical equipment.
- Providing comfort to sick newborns, as well as anxious parents and family members.
- Assisting the NICU physicians with medical procedures and treatments.
- Executing medical procedures, such as testing, medication administration, and intravenous line insertion.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: R125,35 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Midrand, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (required)

**Experience**:

- NNICU: 1 year (required)

License/Certification:

- South African Nursing Council (required)
