Responsible for the purchasing function.
- Supervising the purchasing department, Central stores and relevant personnel
- Price negotiations and approvals
- Ensure that purchasing is done as per company policy
- Liaising with different suppliers.
- Do stock revaluations.
- Source new products for the production departments.
- Liaison with logistics for collection and deliveries.
- Place and write purchase orders
- Participate in vendor meetings and compare vendors
- Get quotations as required
- Always check and negotiate better and efficient prices
- Advise retail locations on price points
- Keeping the purchasing card index system up to date
- Make sure that the stock taking is done as per company policy
- Conduct weekly cycle counts and ensure stock list is up to date
- Monitor inventory
- Ensure minimum and maximum stock levels are always maintained
- Perform documents audit quarterly for material used.
- Schedule and coordinate all aspects of purchasing, from start to finish.
- Determine stock level per item, taking into consideration the consumption, availability and delivery times
- Identifies alternative supplies continuously to deliver the right price, right product, right quantities, right firm and right time
- Follow up with regards to stock items that are on lower stock levels
- Diploma in purchasing and supply chain management
- Three years relevant experience
- Strong administrative skills
- Valid Driver’s License
- PC Literate
- Good / excellent negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
