**Production Supervisor - Epping - R18,000-R20,000 CTC per month**

The purpose of this role would be to implement and supervise the company’s manufacturing process to achieve production objectives and targets, including the correct planning of headcount per shift.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma Production/Operations Management / Industrial Engineering
- BTech Production/Operations Management / Industrial Engineering an advantage
- Forklift Driver’s license an advantage
- Level 1 First Aid certificate an advantage
- Fire fighter / Fire marshal certificate an advantage
- Health & Safety Representative certificate an advantage
- 5 years’ work experience in FMCG environment - minimum 2 years as Supervisor or similar
- Work experience in Personal Care production environment an advantage

**MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**
- Implement and supervise the company manufacturing process
- Plan work activities and set team goals through the management structure.
- Ensure correct head count planning per machine per shift
- Ensure all resources i.e., raw materials etc. are in place to meet production schedule.
- Allocate job assignments as to scheduling, resource availability, cycle time and customer requirements
- Supervise and assist where appropriate with setting and changing of factory machinery to meet production and quality requirements
- Supervise workflow with team members to ensure maximum productivity and to minimise downtime. Review process specifications and make appropriate adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure that production output for the shift is achieved as planned within the shortest possible
- lead time as to quality specifications
- Ensure that production data is accurately recorded on shift i.e., production output, sample testing, waste, downtime by reason as well as ensuring that consumption recons are completed within 24hours of a job completion & forwarded to Production Manager for review.
- Report on progress and achievement of production objectives and targets i.e., output vs planned, ensuring that Visual Management boards are maintained.
- Wastage is kept to a minimum and disposed of in line with standard operating procedures
- Assist with ensuring that machinery is maintained and repaired with minimum disruption to production schedule.
- Print identification labels and barcodes for company product range.
- Pro-actively identify potential machine problems to minimize breakdowns and implement
- preventative maintenance measures
- Actively Drive continuous improvement of:

- OEE
- Material consumption versus BOM
- Improving output through initiatives
- Cost saving initiatives
- Supervise work group to produce company products
- Implement and supervise productivity through the management structure
- Supervise quality and scheduling requirements based on specific, measurable and attainable
- team goals
- Allocate job assignments to maximise the use of available skills and productivity
- Ensure work practices adhere to health and safety regulations
- Ensure that good housekeeping (hygiene & sanitation) standards are maintained
- Manage staff timekeeping, absenteeism, including back to work interviews and disciplinary
- matters by implementing progressive disciplinary system as required
- Assist with identifying and implementing training interventions of factory personnel in
- accordance with operational requirements ensuring that the Skills Matrix is actively maintained
- & displayed on the Visual Management Boards
- Record all activities in accordance with ruling procedure and report on progress regularly.
- Assist in writing and amending of Standard Operating Procedures in line with the ISO 9001

**Supervise the implementation of Quality Assurance requirements**:

- Ensure that work instructions are implemented as required
- Ensure product-in-process conforms to quality specifications.
- Root causes of product non-conformances and/or process malfunctions and problems are proactively identified and resolved on shift.
- Monitor sampling requirements and quality deviations on shift.
- Training needs are identified to enhance quality awareness.
