**The opportunity**:
This role will be responsible for maintaining the materials handling equipment onsite, assist with new installations, upgrades, support other technicians across Gauteng sites and administer the relationship with management regarding equipment impact on production.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role forms an integral part assuring minimum production downtime so critical to get stock to stores.

The longer-term goal for this role will be to establish and maintain world-class materials handling equipment to drive productivity up and cost down and assist the division to demonstrate best in class practices.

The team culture is one of being highly adaptable, creative and be flexible to the constant changing needs of the division and being highly responsive and strategic.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintaining all mechanical and electrical equipment in and around the Distribution Centre through preventative and corrective maintenance. Assets include fork-trucks, chargers, batteries, conveyors, compressors, dock levellers, racking to name a few.
- Communicate with DC management on any changes in operational capability of all materials handling equipment.
- Drive Health and Safety Standards in your work environment.
- Monthly Maintenance reporting to DC Management and Maintenance Manager.
- Assisting with the installation of material-handling equipment, electrical and DC systems equipment.
- Industrial Automation - assist with the setup, configuration and maintenance of all automation systems employed as part of the operation of TFG Logistics.
- Inventory management of tools and spares via CMMS.
- Projects management.
- Daily equipment checks and liaising with contractors coming to site.
- Quick fault finding and resolution of MHE breakdowns.

**Requirements**:

- A National Diploma_ _in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Millwright or N4.
- 3 - 5 years minimum with a proven track record of working in the Mechanical Maintenance field.
- Basic maintenance of MHE, Electrical understanding, Health and Safety
- Word, Excel, CMMS
