Group Nursing Service Manager

**Requirements**:

- Diploma / degree in Nursing (essential)
- Qualification in Nurse Administration (advantageous) or a relevant business
- related degree (e.g., B Comm / MBA / financial diploma)
- Must have a current registration with the South African Nursing Council
- Minimum experience 7 - 10+ years in a senior nursing management role
- Preferred experience 10+ years in a senior nursing management role within a large hospital group.

Role summary:
To provide strategic leadership to Nursing Managers and Unit Managers across the group. The role encompasses setting direction in line with group strategy, driving growth, quality and operational efficiencies, attracting and retaining the right staff and ensuring nursing staff perform at optimal levels aligned to agreed strategic objectives.

Accountabilities:

- Nursing strategy linked to the group vision and business plan’s 4 key pillars (Growth and Efficiencies, Quality, People and Sustainability)
- Nursing Acuity and Skill Mix Model as a tool to ensure staffing costs are aligned to the nursing budget
- Monthly Nursing Scorecards linked to monthly internal and DOH reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of each hospital’s revenue, cost, capital and balance sheet drivers
- Knowledge of hospital procurement and tender processes (for nursing agency tenders)
- Execution of key group projects applicable to Nursing and Education.
- Strategic delivery of the organisation’s College of learning and education framework.
- Change management leadership
- Strategic guidance and support towards the execution of the clinical
governance framework
- Delivery of key financial outcome
