Mould Setter

The Mould Setter is responsible for all aspects of the injection mould and extrusion processes at Sinapi Plastics including changing out moulds, machine settings setup, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of injection moulds and related equipment.

**Qualification and Experience**:

- Grade 12
- Course/ training as injection moulding setter preferred
- Experience as mould setter in injection moulding facility would be preferred.
- Lift truck, rigging, and crane operation experience
- Experience on setting of Yizumi machines not required but would be beneficial.

**Job Specific skills**:

- Good understanding of injection moulding process and various machine settings.
- Good working knowledge of the different plastic material used and the related processing characteristics.
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools.
- Good understanding of the safe setup and operation of injection moulding and extrusion equipment.
- Good understanding of the basic maintenance and care of injection moulds.

**Some of the duties may include**:

- Set up injection moulder settings
- Perform and direct the mould and material changing processes.
- Assure that mould set up and changeovers standards are met.
- Install necessary water lines, knockout bars, hydraulic lines, air lines, switches, hoppers, dryers, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
- Ensure new job start-ups run correctly, making any necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot processing problems including normal adjustments and checks
- Ensure moulding machines and supporting systems are set to correct parameters and meeting the production goals
- Verify process parameters and implement changes, as appropriate, to improve cycle times
- Inspecting first-off parts to ensure they meet the customer specifications
- Monitor, train, and coach the machine operators to ensure they follow procedures
- Monitor stock levels of consumables and ensure that there are always enough consumables for mould services by ordering in time
- Get quotes and order basic parts for moulds such as ejector pins & hydraulic fittings)
