**Job Purpose**:
It is the responsibility of the Warehouseman to ensure that the instruction of the Superintendent / Facility Manager is carried out efficiently and timeously to ensure that the warehouse is well organised and that all obstructions / Incidents are dealt with promptly to allow cargo to flow easily through the warehouse.**
Qualifications & Experience**:

- Matric.
- Certification in Freight Handling & Warehouse Management.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Warehousing.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. GENERAL
- Maintain a clear understanding of specific clients SLA's and KPI measures.
- Perform daily tasks within the required time frame.
- Monitor WMS's and address any problems/queries (stock control and checking available space/create space).
- Initiate coaching, counselling and disciplinary actions for all subordinates.
- Ensure maximum productivity of warehouse staff.
- Monitor the use of labour broker staff and complete the employees timesheets daily and accurately submit to management.
- Ensure that all assets/equipment are in good working condition and checklists/inspections are completed correctly.
- Clear the GIT report before the end of a shift.
- Ensure trucks loading in the facility are crossed checked after loading for accuracy and no overloads are accepted.
- All work related issues must be communicated effectively to both BIL and the Client.
- Ensure that all changes within the operation are effectively communicated to your subordinate and all incidents are reported immediately.
- Ensure that your subordinates understand the operation's processes and procedures.
- Ensure all equipment breakdowns are reported directly to your Superior / Superintendent.

2. RECEIPTS, PICKING AND DESPATCHING
- Ensure that daily planning of ex-production cargo is done so that sufficient space and resources are available to accept the cargo.
- Ensure load verification is done after a truck is loaded, cross checked and a note is made against the physical load on the truck.
- All vehicles are to be loaded within the agreed transporter time on site.
- All discrepancies and damages identified during the receipt of product are to be communicated to the client and resolved within agreed timeframes.
- When despatching, ensure that all products have been correctly checked by the dispatch operator and that the delivery note has been signed by the Dispatch Operator, Warehouseman and the Transporter.
- Ensure that all products being despatched have been correctly loaded and not damaged to avoid any possible claims from the Client.
- Ensure that all receiving information and despatching information is recorded daily for Monthly SLA reports.
- Ensure all trucks are tarped correctly and are within the standard before they leave the facility.
- Ensure that P001 location report is printed, checked, signed and filed before the end of each shift.

3. STOCK COUNTS AND CYCLE COUNTS
- Ensure that daily and weekly cycle counts are conducted according to client SLA's and requests.
- Ensure that all cycle counts are signed off and stock balances corrected in conjunction with the Facility Manager and Client where applicable.
- Participate on Quarterly, Bi-annual and Annual stock counts as per Facility schedule.

4. SHERQ
- Participate actively in the SHERQ programmes that are implemented in the Facility.
- Prepare, attend and contribute to the Facilities monthly Management and Safety Meetings.
- Participate in operational AR's and investigate all incidents by close of business when identified.
- Adhere to and comply with BIL SHEMS requirements and with BIL Quality Management System.
- Participate in internal audits when required.
- Know and understand all BIL and Client Procedure's and Policies for the respective site.
- Implement and ensure all staff under your supervision adhere to all Covid 19 site protocols.
