**Job description**:
- Effective maintenance and repairs of conveyor belt to ensure availability
- Effective splicing of belts in line with best practices
- Conveyor belt availability, mínimal downtime as a result of prompt responses to breakdowns, prompt risk identification, communication and mitigation
- Achieve low cost per ton operation of conveyor belt
- Effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
- Compliance with SHEQ, M&RC and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols.
- Effective team and self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
- Team and self comply with the lock out systems required on machinery and equipment
**Minimum requirements**:

- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Section 26 Mechanic Fitter Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a registered body e.g:
- o Olifantsfontein pre 1994
o ESTC (Engineering Skills Training Centre) James Park
o GFA (Goldfields Training Academy
- Sound verbal and writing communication skills in English
- Procedural, Conscientious and Rule-Oriented
- Minimum 5 years of experience on a conveyor belt, Preferably in an underground mining environment
- Knowledge in belt splicing
- Comfortable and able to work at heights
- Understanding of Conveyor belt safety devices
