**Job Advert Summary**:
Clover is looking for an experienced **Head of IT** to lead the IT team at** Clover Head Office** in **Roodepoort**.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Develop and execute Information Technology strategy that is linked to business strategy.**
- Plan an IT strategy that is aligned to the business strategy.
- Determine the current and future state of all IT systems and technologies by defining a 5 year implementation roadmap clearly indicating major investments required, reduction of technical debt and reduction in IT cyber vulnerabilities
- Lead and guide the organisation to use technology to increase revenue, reduce operating costs and simplify daily operations.
- Focus on future technologies relevant to a FMCG, diary, food and branded consumer goods organisation and maintain healthy relationships with vendors that seek to partner with Clover to enable these technologies.

**Support the business and lead through technology innovation.**
- Drive Continuous focus on IT capex and operating budgets to maximiseutilisation, reduce costs where possible, derive greater value from vendor re-negotiations and contract management.
- Assist and guide IT procurement related to new systems and technologies even when initiated from business units.
- Continuous improvements to IT operations and systems efficiency to increase system uptime in the most cost-effective manner.

**Lead IT governance related to purchasing, implementation and operations.**
- Lead IT efforts related to tenders issued and responded to covering RFIs (Request for Information) and RFPs (Request for Proposals)
- Manage the IT capital and operational expenditure to deliver more "bang for the buck" focusing on efficient spend, delivering more with less through commercial negotiations with vendors
- Establish the Technology Steering Committee - an enterprise wide forum to ensure that all technology related purchases (including services) are pre-approved before contractual commitment by IT or business units.
- Ensure all required IT policies, standards and procedures are documented, reviewed appropriately, available online, communicated to all relevant stakeholders and adhered to. Includes the establishment and active participation of the required IT change control, operations, project and management forums with strict adherence to the SDLC (Systems Development Lifecycle) which must be documented, briefed to all IT stakeholders and adhered to so that changes are effectively planned, reported on, tested, logged, implemented and tracked for audit compliance.
- Ensure IT compliance to all contractual obligations, legislative and regulatory laws and agreed policies and standards. Focus on resolution of IT audit findings raised through internal and external audits, driving IT cyber security initiatives to not only reduce IT risk, reduce IT vulnerabilities but also to enable cheaper cyber security insurance premiums.
- Effective management of all IT contracts to ensure annual budgets are accurate, annual spend is within agreed budgets, vendor agreements are in place and renewed as required.
- Effective management (identification and reduction) of IT risks, audit findings, cyber security vulnerabilities within agreed timelines supported by periodic testing of IT disaster recovery plans.

**People Management**
- Develop and appropriate IT organisational team structure that supports the needs of the business, taking cognisance of resource constraints, key person dependencies, career planning and succession planning.
- Creating high performance teams, a motivating team environment with strong D level managers that manage their budgets, cost centres and vendors.
- Provide effective leadership, setting clear performance KPIs (measurable) and assist team members to reach those KPIs or take appropriate action where targets are not met.
