Our client in the commercial electrical construction industry is looking for a dynamic HV Electrician. This position would be responsible for installing and repairing complex HV control, wiring, and underground fluid cables systems working from a technical blueprint.

This role is based in Cape Town and will report to the Project Manager.

**Basic Requirements**:
Formal Tertiary Education: Qualified Electrical Artisan

**Training - cable jointers/fluid cable engineering preferred.**

Valid driver’s Licence.

The client is interested in 3 - 5 Years of trained electrical HV cable joining and fluid cable experience.

**Key responsibilities**:
Inspection and testing of HV electrical installations.

Reading and interpretation of HV electrical site plans (technical drawings).

Reading technical diagrams and blueprints.

Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.

Performing general electrical maintenance.

Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.

Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.

Repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures.

Following national and local building regulations.

Performing circuit breaker corrective maintenance.

Maintaining good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems as well as various testing equipment.

Ensure that electrical installations are in compliance with legislation, standards and project specific standards, including managing all required documentation.

Reporting technical issues.

Qualifications and experience:
**Qualified HV Electrician.**

At least 5 years of experience as a 3 Phase Installation Electrician or similar position.

In-depth LV, MV & HV experience.

Certified to issue 3-phase Certificates of Compliance.

Wireman’s license would be advantageous.

Previous data centre experience would be advantageous.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent fault-finding skills.

Attention to detail.

Ability to work independently.
