**Purpose of the Job**:

- To support Service Obsolescence Management activities in the project

**Key accountabilities**:

- Facilitate and support the development of obsolescence management plan with Product Platforms, Projects and Fleet Centres of Excellence
- Request & validate product structures and Bills of Material for obsolescence monitoring from Product Units (Design Authority), Suppliers and other sources such as Illustrated Parts Catalogue, and load in TOMSYS
- Determine obsolescence monitoring strategies for products and projects
- Review and validate obsolescence management plans
Review incoming obsolescence alerts from external sources, load in TOMSYS and identify necessary actions
- Prepare periodic project obsolescence reports including Performance Indicators
- Facilitate development of obsolescence solutions With Sourcing and Supply Chain, develop obsolescence management capability in Suppliers through use of Supplier Charter Audits and Obsolescence Management Plans
- Facilitate supplier obsolescence review meetings

**EXPERTISE, TOOL & SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT**
- Develop tools and systems including TOMSYS and use of SharePoint
- Ensure future Alstom IS development takes account of obsolescence management needs
- Share experience & knowledge of obsolescence management with others
- Participate and promote Obsolescence Management CCN (Core Competence Network)

- Improvements to business processes - time and cost saving
- Cost avoidance and cost saving in projects through obsolescence decisions
- Management of information requests - time to respond
- Quality of support given to project and product teams
- Customer satisfaction

**Business understanding and desired knowledge/experience**

**Educational Requirements**:
University degree or equivalentMinimum experience required:
**Mandatory**:

- Knowledge of obsolescence management
- Information Systems including ERP and Product Data

**Competencies & Skills**:

- English
- Design & industrialisation of electronic equipment
- IT: MS-Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) essential; MS Access and Visio + SAP desirable
- Collaboration & Teamwork - working with local team and with a remote network
- Continuous improvement - ability to innovate continuously and effectively
- Organisation and planning - good time management and delivery
- Communication skills - international and with internal and external correspondents
