**We are recruiting an Aviation Coordinator to join Travelopia, working with a globally based team**

As an **Aviation Coordinator**, you will be providing a highly efficient booking service to our internal and external customers taking ownership of all their air requirements. You will ensure the most efficient options are investigated and offered at all times and that travel costs are minimised where possible. This role requires you to handle the end-to-end process of booking air including handling the reservation, ticketing and BSP/ARC reconciliation.

You will be working predominantly with our US Tour Operator brands - **Europe Express** and **YMT Vacations** who are our experts offering decades of experience in custom independent and group travel for North American travellers throughout Europe and other popular destinations around the world.

We offer flexible hybrid working and our office is based in Century City in Cape Town. You will work 40 hours per week: 10:30am to 6:30pm (April to October) and 11:30am to 7:30pm (September to March).

**What you will be doing**:

- Use all available systems but principally Amadeus to acquire the best flights and fares to meet the businesses requirements
- Use detailed airline net/agreed/published fare contracts, ensuring all ticketing timelines are met
- Use your fares knowledge to drive the lowest possible rate on all itineraries seeking fare combinations where relevant
- Co-ordinate the group booking process including acquiring the best rates, holding space, time limits, release back, naming and ticketing
- Offer help and advice to the businesses and help them to make the best decisions for their needs
- Issuing and reissuing tickets for both published and net fares
- Processing any changes/cancellations, with refunds to bookings
- Take full ownership for resolving errors and recovering costs associated with ADM’s
- Handling all queues daily within the GDS, ensuring all PNR’s are actioned, and customers advised of any changes
- Producing and maintaining daily sales records, and spreadsheets, as well as weekly and monthly management information

**What we are looking for**:
A motivated ticketing agent, with prior experience using Amadeus, ticketing experience - including reissues and refunds, as well as an understanding of fare rules, manual fare calculations making complicated group bookings if required.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent geographical and airline knowledge, with a focus on customer service, driven to exceed customer expectations and achieve performance targets. You will be able to work well in a team, taking an organised and logical approach to your work, always being able to prioritise and work towards tight timeframes.

Excellent social skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with external and internal partners at all levels are key, using your initiative to problem solve when needed is also vital. Lastly, a passion for travel is always encouraged
