**SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE**:
To be responsible for the smooth running of the night shift in the absence of the Night Manager.
To be responsible for Hotel check ins and check outs, and to ensure that the standards as laid down by the company policies and procedures are adhered to in order to achieve the highest occupancy percentage at the best possible average room rate.
To provide the best possible standard in service to all guests and owners.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
At least 2 years’ experience in the Hotel industry, in a similar position
Fidelio Opera “Front Office and Cashiering functions” an advantage
Prior night audit/reception experience an advantage
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
Fluent in English
Basic mathematics and accounting knowledge essential
Display a high level of emotional intelligence
Customer orientation, professional charm and sophistication is an advantage
Presentable
Ability to capture, interpret and interrogate data
Ability to work shifts and occasional overtime
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Minimum Std. 10 (Grade 12)
Front Office, NQ Level 1 or other relevant tertiary qualifications an advantage
**DATE REQUIRED**:
To start as soon as possible
**KEY RESULT AREAS (FREQUENT TASKS)**:
To ensure all night audit reports are compiled correctly and distributed.
To ensure all systems balance before running EOD.
To ensure that all guests are checked in and out in a professional, efficient and courteous manner.
To maintain a high standard of personal service with all customers, internal and external as well as public areas surpassing those as set out by Legacy Hotels and Resorts.
Ensuring that Front Office policies and procedures regarding front desk procedures, switchboard duties, handling incoming messages, mail, deliveries, packages etc. are strictly adhered to.
Dealing with all guest queries regarding bookings, in house queries, payments and after departure services.
To assist the Sales & Marketing department in promoting and selling the hotel & the facilities to prospective guests.
Ensuring effective communication from the reception department to all operational departments.
To make reservations in the absence of the Reservations department and after hours.
To be fully aware of the trends in the industry and make suggestions for the improvement of the running of the Front Desk.
To assist as far as possible with the induction and training of new staff members and students.
To carry out duties that the Front Office & Rooms Division Manager may require from time to time.
Relieve night audit.
