**Position Overview**: We are seeking a dedicated Circulating Enrolled Nurse to join our team at the new Mveledzo Day Hospital in Thohoyandou. The role involves providing essential support during surgical procedures by ensuring the smooth flow of activities in the operating room and maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- **Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborating with the surgical team to prepare the operating room before procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and in working order.
- Assisting in patient positioning, prepping surgical sites, and ensuring a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
- Managing and documenting the usage of surgical instruments, supplies, and medications during surgeries, following hospital protocols and guidelines.
- Anticipating the needs of surgeons and other team members during procedures, providing requested instruments and supplies promptly and accurately.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs, anesthesia administration, and overall well-being during surgery, reporting any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
- Maintaining accurate records of intraoperative activities, including counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and needles to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of care throughout the perioperative period.
- Providing support and reassurance to patients before and after surgery, addressing their concerns and questions as appropriate.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Enrolled Nurse qualification with current registration and practicing license.
- Previous experience in a perioperative setting or operating room environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to changing situations during surgical procedures.
