**Main purpose**:The main purpose of this full-time, fixed term and funded position is to provide digital media editing services and administrative support to the Africa-China Reporting Project. The incumbent is expected to work as a team player, supporting the Project Coordinator, to fulfil the objectives of the Africa-China Reporting Project.

**The incumbent’s duties also include**:

- To track and fulfil the daily administrative tasks of running the Africa-China Reporting Project, notably in relation to the awarding and processing of reporting grants, communicating with grant recipients and Wits vendors, planning of training workshops and event management, and other admin duties (ideally extending to Oracle and other Wits systems).
- To produce digital content through the use of digital media software and tools, and manage all of the Africa-China Reporting Project’s social platforms on a daily basis.
- To ensure the Africa-China Reporting Project remains effective, innovative, and efficient.

**The essential requirements to the position include**:

- Understanding of the Africa/China media relationship and landscape
- Familiarity with the university’s administrative systems and networks
- Advanced digital media experience including CMS deployment and management; Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel and Word; advanced web development and design skills; some knowledge of InDesign, Premier Pro for video editing and Photoshop
- Experience in running online Webinars on Zoom and other platforms, registration of attendees via platforms such as Eventbrite, and design of Webinar and online marketing posters using CANVA and other platforms
- Ability to adapt and be flexible. Writing reports
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Resilience and willingness to learn new skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good time management skills
- Ability to plan and organize
- Willingness to acquire new knowledge and understanding of Africa-China relations and Africa’s development

The incumbent may hold a Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced Diploma, Post Graduate Certificate or B-tech qualification.
