Project Manager: Infrastructure

**Project Management**
- Conduct feasibility study, Project risk analysis and Project scope planning
- Prepare project cost estimation in collaboration with the quantity surveyor
- Facilitate and recommend the appointment of professional service providers (e.g. architect, engineers etc.) to do the infrastructure design.
- Conduct advocacy engagements with relevant stakeholders (CLO, SGB, SMT, donor etc.).
- Facilitate approval of drawings by all relevant bodies.
- Develop work breakdown structure, works programme, budget breakdown and cash flow.
- Establish all project teams and committees and ensure relevant contracts are signed and filed accordingly.
- Verify drawings and specifications
- Procure material, tools and equipment
- Discuss and agree on project deliverables and time frames.
- Assist the Team leader (Contractor) with the setting-out of excavation and site works
- Produce work schedules in accordance with the availability of employees, contractors and labor and monitor the site attendance
- Manage the delivery of projects according to project plan and milestone targets and make project variations where required.
- Ensure suppliers and workers are paid on time and relevant supporting documents (original invoices, delivery notes, etc.) are submitted to finance.
- Monitor expenditure against the budget.
- Resolve all site related challenges (technical, interpersonal and labour).
- Conduct site inspection and ensure that safety and quality standards are adhered to.
- Ensure that professional service providers conduct site inspections as per project plan SLA.
- Ensure that all remedial work is carried out as per recommendation of professional service providers.
**Project closeout and handover**
- Ensure building is compliant and signed off by the relevant professional service providers.
- Ensure all relevant compliance and completion certificates are issued and filed accordingly.
- Compile closeout report as per AAS and client standards.
- Ensure surety (retainer) is paid or withheld in line with AAS standards.
- Ensure all supplier accounts have been reconciled and any outstanding amounts settled and final statement submitted to finance.
**Reporting and Administration**
- Ensure compliance with M&E standardised systems and deadlines
- Compile and file project progress reports, considering completion time, budget and resource utilization
- Compile assessment reports
- Prepare and file site minutes and meeting attendance registers in line with AAS defined standards.
- Ensure all contracts, ID copies and payment schedules are filed as per AAS standards.
- Ensure all professional reports and certificates are files in lines with AAS standards.
**Stakeholder Relations**
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders (district and provincial officials, SGB, parents, schools, donors etc).
- Ensure that all key stakeholders are informed of project progress, delays or challenges
- Ensure functional project committees by holding regular project meetings.
**Risk Management**
- Develop and monitor a project risk management plan
- Proactively manage project risk throughout the projects phases and incorporate in the monthly progress report.
- Ensure utilisation of risk tools
- Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being followed at all sites.
**Education, Skills and Experience**
- National Diploma in Built Environmental Science or similar qualification.
- Good leadership skills with ability to interact at all levels
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Good report writing skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and convey this information to others
- A min of 5 years’ project management experience in the construction industry, supervised work whilst also working with communities from various backgrounds
