Research different formulation types suitable for the identified active ingredients;
- Liaise with suppliers w.r.t inert ingredients;
- Formulate the product and perform product stability testing;
- Keep retention samples for a period of time suitable for the commercialisation of the product;
- Keep meticulous records of all work carried out in the development of a product;
- Complete a new formulation report in the form of an NPF document;
- Provide and optimize formulation costing.
- Improve the quality and stability of existing formulations;
- Complete a formulation change report in the form of a TCR document.
- Testing of alternative raw materials due to shortage of supply, competitive pricing etc, as identified by marketing and procurement;
- Testing of alternative raw materials in registered formulations due to legislation changes in SA and/or other regions;
- Testing of alternative raw materials due to possible phase out in SA and/or banning in other regions such as the EU or USA;
- Complete a formulation change report in the form of a TCR document. Investigate newer agrochemical formulation technologies for the South African and/or International market;
- Attend relevant formulations training courses to remain aware of market trends in the Agriculture industry;
- Research and formulate formulations that are less toxic to the environment;
- Formulate agrochemical products.
- Conduct stability testing of formulations prior to registration according to FAO specifications and record all results on a stability report;
- Prepare trial samples of new and/or existing agrochemical formulations for field registration trials;
**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Grade 12 with post matric qualification of a B.Sc or BSc Hons in Chemistry or Formulation Science or related field.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in formulation development.
- Computer literate in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Knowledge of Syspro
- Must have knowledge of Act 36 of 1947
- Ability to solve problems systematically
- Must possess general chemical production environment knowledge
- Reasonable inter-personal skills.
- Must possess an understanding of the general agricultural formulations in existence, e.g. EC, ME, EW, SC, SL, WP, SP etc;
