THINK is seeking highly skilled and dedicated Locum Radiographers for our districts _(uMkhanyakude, uMgungundlovu, Amajuba &uThukela)_. As a Locum Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in providing diagnostic imaging services to patients in need. This is a locum position to provide support during the absence of our regular radiographers.
**Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
**Radiography**
- Take X-rays of patients/clients, by using X-ray equipment and established techniques.
- Take X-rays and checks the quality of Images and maintains equipment by performing Quality Assurance as stipulated be the equipment supplier and record keeping of QA activities.
- Share reports, especially of TB positive cases with the DoH team.
- Does quality assurance on all the images taken and Equipment Quality Assurance as stipulated by supplier i.e., Daily, Weekly, Monthly and yearly by appointed QA Specialist.
- Record keeping of all QA done.
- Makes sure that all the images have been reported.
- Report all the discrepancies (AI) with the supplier and the appointed Radiologist.
**Administration**
- Maintain serviceability of all X-ray equipment by establishing defects and reporting and recording faults immediately to the supplier.
- Keep a register of all patients X-rayed (electronically), i.e. names of patients, exam and date done.
- Monitor radiation doses in respect of employees likely to be exposed to radiation, by maintaining a register, dispatching radiation monitoring badges to relevant authorities on a monthly basis.
- Maintain and controls an adequate stock level of printing paper, PPE, stationery, etc. by conducting monthly stock-takes and re-ordering stock from most suitable supplier/person.
- Doing/recording required check on all lead protection gear as stipulated by supplier.
**General**
- Produce M&E of all work performed by keeping a daily register of units and submits a monthly report to Line Manager.
- Supervise Mobile Unit supporting staff members i.e., Driver and Enrolled Nurse.
- Monitoring attendance and leave of the supporting staff and reporting to the District Coordinator/District Manager.
- Comprehend and makes known organisational goals and explains the purpose of operational instructions, policies, procedures to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide active participation and contribution towards effective working relationships.
**Requirements**:
- Degree/National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Registered with HPCSA.
- 3 years’ experience as a qualified Radiographer (Post Community Serve).
- Clear criminal record.
