**Overview**

As the Playschool and Pre
- primary HOD of Greek, you will be responsible for the effective implementation and delivery of the Greek curriculum, with an aim of nurturing an understanding, love and appreciation of the Greek language, culture, and history. This position encompasses continuous curriculum development, teacher growth and development, relationship building and academic support to students. The individual will have a dual reporting role to both the Principal of the Playschool and Pre
- primary, and the Director of Greek. Keeping abreast of globally benchmarked academic standards and the ability to multi-task effectively - teaching as well as the ability to manage, motivate and guide staff within their department, are key elements of this position.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Minimum qualification/s**:

- A Bachelor’s or Honours’ degree in Greek Language and Education; and
- Teaching diploma or certification/ equivalent qualification in Greek language education.

**Experience**
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience (preferably teaching Greek at the above required levels);
- Minimum of 5 years management experience/ similar in heading a team within an educational setting;
- Proficiency in technology for classroom and administrative purposes.

**Required**:

- A commitment to the planning, organization, and participation in the extracurricular and cultural activities of the school;
- Appropriate security and child protection clearance and SACE registration;
**Skills required**:

- Excellent command of the Greek language, including grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation;
- Proficiency in English - both verbal and written;
- Impressive teaching capability and skills;
- Strong managerial skills - organizational, administrative and communication skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team of educators to motivate and enhance performance;
- Ability to work effectively withing a dual management structure, by ensuring open communication and inclusivity;
- High interpersonal skills for effective conflict resolution, negotiation and decision making;
- An understanding on how to adapt to new teaching methodologies and technologies and adjust accordingly.

- A love and passion for Greek culture, is essential, with in depth knowledge of Greek history, traditions, language, and arts;
