Tutor for two teenagers - Durbanville Area.

A wonderful opportunity awaits in the Durbanville area for a tutoring position offering teaching support and guidance to two siblings, each with their own unique passions and personalities. The eldest sibling has a love for drumming, playing the electric guitar, and baking beautiful cakes, in addition to aspiring to become a cardiothoracic surgeon one day. The younger sibling has a passion for history and facts, enjoys gaming, and aspires to be an architect in the future.
- We are looking for someone with a strong tutoring background in Maths, Science and English within the Cambridge curriculum. They need to be passionate about teaching, be creative, adaptable and flexible with their teaching methods.
- Minimum 2 years tutoring/teaching experience with neurodivergent individuals.
- The tutor will have to be included as a core member of the multi
- disciplinary team in line with the S.P.E.L.L. principles.
- Providing one-on-one academic support to each sibling. They should have previous experience working with neurodivergent individuals and understanding how to adjust their teaching approach to suit different learning styles.
- Monitoring the learners learning/academic progress.
- Developing individual learning strategies best suited to their individual learning profile with the support of our MDT.
- Design learning materials (e.g., visual aids) and different resources that are specific to their learning needs.
- Help break down tasks and chunk information.

Support and training from a multidisciplinary team knowledgeable in Neurodiversity.

Fluent in English (Essential).

Previous experience supporting neurodivergent children (Essential).

Minimum 2 years previous teaching/tutoring experience (Essential).

Familiarity with a low-arousal, and neuro-affirming approach (Essential).

Knowledge of the unique support needs of neurodivergent individuals (Essential).

Knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and/or Cambrilearn (online) (Essential).

Knowledgeable in teaching Maths, Science and English (Essential).

Ability to minimise stress and anxiety using a low-arousal approach (Essential).

Strong verbal communication skills (Essential).

Organisational skills and ability to implement structure (Essential).

Relationship-building skills (Essential).

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays: flexible to decide the time - 3 hours anytime in the afternoon from 1pm - 6pm onwards.

Fridays: flexible to decide the timing for this day - 3 hours.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: R150,00 - R250,00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
