**Job Description**:

- To be responsible for negotiating, drafting, reviewing, wide variety of agreements for Experian, both South Africa and Africa. Negotiating and settling vendor agreements. Negotiating and settling tier 1 - 4 client agreements including data processing agreements. Responsibility for ensuring complaint cross border data transfer agreements between group companies are in place. Drafting new templates and maintaining the templates to ensure templates remain up to date. Drafting product terms and conditions. Conducting training. Providing legal interpretation of new legislation. Horizon scanning for new legislation impacting the business in the different markets. To provide legal advice and minimise financial and reputational risk, by ensuring compliance and providing advice in accordance with business objectives, best practice and legislation to all subsidiaries in Africa. Providing support during M&A activities.

**Qualifications**:

- LLB Degree Preferably be an admitted attorney
- 2-5 years post articles experience in drafting commercial agreements with experience in the following: technology contracts and the following pieces of legislation: CPA, POPIA, NCA, Cybercrimes Act
- Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Basic Computer Skills

Additional Information
**What you’ll be doing**
- Provide legal advice and services to internal business teams, including advice on data access and data privacy.
- Ensure effective management of legal and contractual risks; including but not limited to identification of risks, explanation of risks to the business teams, and proposing and facilitating solutions for management of such risks and identifying potential risk mitigation steps to manage the risks.
- Timeous and accurate drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of template, standard form and bespoke contracts and amendments, including drafting and negotiation of modifications and non-standard contractual provisions including playbook responses for data privacy.
- Support contract playbook maintenance.
- Support the data privacy office with data privacy legal matters.
- Assist with the maintenance of the contract repository and contract lifecycle.
- Proper documentation handling and record keeping of all agreements and related legal documentation.
- Provide assistance to business teams to manage contracts to protect and assert company rights and to avoid claims and litigation.
- Manage assigned claims and litigation matters to provide support to Group Legal Manager and business teams.
- Ensure compliance with and provide internal training regarding applicable laws and corporate global business practices, policies and procedures.
- Draft memoranda for internal and external use.
- Research and provision of accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders (i.e. companies within the designated countries) to ensure that corporate activities are in line with applicable laws.
- Update and maintain the Litigation Register.
- Update and maintain the Legislation Register.
- Update and maintain the Contracts Register.
- Update and maintain the Change of Control Register.
- Maintaining relevant policies.
