Responsible to measure all components in accordance with drawing specifications;
- Be able to Interpret/read engineering drawings;
- Gauges maintained and records kept of calibration, damages reported to the Quality Coordinator;
- Daily patrol inspection;
- First Offs conducted on all components and records kept;
- Testing conducted on all company products i.e. Rubber - shore hardness; Panto graphs - sideways rigidity and drop voltage; etc
- Overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS);
- Oversee inspection of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet quality requirements;
- Plan, manage and control the quality on projects;
- Investigate all non-conformances with relevant stakeholders;
- Implement corrective / preventative actions and continuous improvement of quality on the production floor;
- Record, escalate all NCR’s to Quality coordinator and Process Engineer;
- Monitor close out of quality actions;
- Must be familiar with SABS standards, project quality plans, data books as well as the quality control plans;
- Carry out supplier inspections according to the quality control plan;
- QC of raw materials, machined & fabricated items and assembled parts;
- Must be able to use measuring tools such as verniers, micrometers and calipers, torque wrench, hardness/thickness testers, clamp meter etc; and
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Recognized and relevant Tertiary Qualification - Quality Diploma or Mechanical Engineering (must);
- A recognized Qualification in Industrial Engineering - Would be an advantage;
- VT1 (welding) would be an advantage. Duties and Responsibilities Experience: - 3-5 years production and technical experience in a manufacturing environment;
- Hands on quality processes knowledge;
- Have the ability to control the production quality inspection process and tooling specifications ;
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
