- A retail chain seeks a Buyer Assistant for a 4-month contract, responsible for procurement administration and assisting buyers with various tasks. Duties include tendering processes, sample management, supplier queries and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Applicants should have relevant qualifications, 2-3 years of experience, strong analytical skills and excellent time management abilities.

**Responsibilities**:

To execute all administration relating to the procurement process:

- Tendering processes
- Preparation of discussion documents
- Capture & monitor purchase orders
- Style cards & sample management
- Assist with managing on-time delivery by following-up on all samples

To provide general assistance to the Buyer/s with:

- Preparation of business plans (i.e. samples)
- Preparation for all merchandise related activities that require product to be pulled, sorted, ordered.
- Suppliers queries, answering phones, mark-downs & general administration

To communicate and follow-up effectively with all relevant internal and external customers /role / key relationships.
To execute all administration relating to the procurement process:

- Loading of new suppliers & products in Trader
- Updating of supplier and product records
- Update pricing (list and selling price) in Trader
- Maintaining product statuses and category classifications
- Capture and modify purchase orders
- Process goods received vouchers & returns to supplier for direct store deliveries
- Process transfers and print labels for store deliveries
- Load and update promotions in Trader and inform the stores
- Manage head office stock on hand and ensure that it has a 0 balance
- Run weekly bulk allocations from DC to stores
- To provide general assistance to the buyer/s with:

- Supplier queries
- Supplier fulfilment issues - follow up on late and short delivery
- Faulty returns to supplier
- To provide assistance to customers and the stores
- Locating items for customer requests
- Inform the stores about price changes and promotions
- Sourcing images from suppliers for the website

**Requirements**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification an advantage
- 2-3 years' relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good business acumen for problem solving
- Confidence to deal with a range of stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload
