**Hours**:
Mon-Fri - 07:30 - 16:00; Periodic Weekend/Public Holiday work for deadlines and completion of responsibilities

**Annual Bonus**

Food Processing Plant seeks a** **Projects Manager to work closely with the Chief Engineer to plan, allocate resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and inform stakeholders on all aspects of engineering and PLC projects to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Responsible for preparing budgets, planning and executing the Pretoria bakery capital projects program
- Manage projects to ensure on-time and in-budget execution
- Plan and coordinate projects with other departments to ensure people’s safety, food safety, and quality and assured supply goals are not impacted.
- Develop sustainability initiatives and lead sustainability projects
- Manage contractors effectively to ensure compliance with all Food Safety; Safety; and Quality standards within budget and time parameters.
- Maintain good interdepartmental communication and cohesion.
- Espouse the company’s core values and behaviours
- Responsible for designing, programming, repairing and maintaining programmable logic controller systems used within the bakery
- Install and service measuring and indicating instruments to monitor process control variables associated with PLCs
- Calibrate, repair, adjust and replace components and systems to diagnose faults and verify repairs - Establish and optimize process control strategies and configure related systems such as HMI’s
- Maintain backups, documentation and software revisions as part of an effective maintenance and sustainability program for PLC systems
- Track and improve utility usage across the plant - All equipment and utilities tracking, measuring and record analysis
- Provide technical support where required (onsite & remote/standby)
- Other duties as reasonably required by the Chief Engineer

- Good English communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Read and process written information with the expected degree of accuracy for the position.
- Demonstrate good organizational and time management skills.
- Take initiative and be self-motivated.

**Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge**:

- Electro-Mechanical Trade Test/ Mechatronics trade test/Electrical Engineer with Allen Bradley background required
- Formal Project Management qualification preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical position with PLC programming, automation and projects responsibilities
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an FMCG environment (Bakery preferred)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in reading and modifying electrical control schematics
- Proficiency with multiple brands of automation hardware and software. Experience required but not limited to, Allen Bradley
- Knowledge of safe working procedures in an FMCG facility
- Proven track record of successful project management in an FMCG environment

**Physical Requirements / Working Conditions**:

- Ability to work in a plant environment for extended periods of time
- Able to work in elevated temperature/high humidity, high flour dust environment
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
