Wynberg Girls’ High School prides itself on high academic standards and an innovative and holistic approach to education in a rapidly changing world. The school governing body seeks to nominate to the WCED a dynamic and forward-thinking Deputy Principal (PL3) who embraces the values, ethos, and mission of our high-functioning state school, and who will actively promote our four pillars: academics, culture, service and sport. Wynberg Girls’ High School is committed to growing a culturally rich and diverse staff and management team in alignment with our transformation goals.

The minimum requirements as determined by the WCED for a PL3 position must be met, and the following additional criteria based on the needs of the school are required for consideration:
Wynberg Girls’ High School, and a commitment to fostering academic excellence;
- proven leadership ability with excellent communication, management, administration,
conflict resolution, and inter
- and intrapersonal skills when engaging with staff, learners,
and other school stakeholders;
- excellent command of spoken and written English, attention to detail, and an ability to
meet deadlines; and
- a thorough working knowledge of school systems, in addition to a high level of computer
literacy.
- previous experience in leading a major portfolio or position in a medium to large high
school (500-1000 learners), which involved managing educators, learners and/or
resources;
- experience in managing learner behaviour processes, including the implementation of a
suitable Learner Code of Conduct and a commitment to a progressive, restorative
approach to discipline;
- proven general administration skills, including (but not limited to) familiarity with school
- based systems such as CEMIS marksheets, NSC examinations, compiling duty rosters,
calendars, and assemblies, managing educator substitution, learner attendance, a mark
admin programme, and the Google Suite;
- a sound knowledge of and experience in all aspects of curriculum, assessment,
promotion, and progression requirements;
- knowledge and evidence of innovative teaching and learning methods;
- a commitment to promoting and participating in the school’s extensive extramural
programme;
- a keen interest in and proven track record of professional development;
- a commitment to girls-only education within the context of the South African educational landscape, and to producing confident,

erudite young adults capable of assuming leadership positions across all sectors; and
- an ability to uphold, and embody, the core values of the school - accountability, courage,
empathy, inclusivity, integrity and respect - and to foster an inclusive culture of diversity
with respect to gender, race and culture.
